The story of Beau, Bea and Archi

05/12/2016

Today we are telling the fabulous story of Reuben’s dogs, how they came to be a part of the family and how they ended up at The Corner. The human and animal family at The Corner, in their little corner of Spain, is quite wonderful and I am privileged to be a part of that from time-to-time, so over to you Reubs to tell the story in your own unique and incredibly special way.

Introducing Beau

Beau is an English Cocker Spaniel, he is Andrew’s dog, he came from Bury St Edmonds in England. He came to Spain in a car with 1 other dog, 2 rabbits and 2 cats with a company called Posh Pets. They looked after him really well.

I love to hug him and kiss his forehead. He adapted very well to his life at The Corner but we thought that he needed a friend so we started to look for another dog. They  were  a nightmare  in  the  City  and  now  they  are  in  The  Corner  Very  Happy

Introducing Bea

Bea is a Spanish water dog, we rescued her because she was the runt of the litter and no one wanted her. She is called Princess Beatrice because when we were naming her Princess Beatrice walked past us in the airport.

She is funny, she always licks my ear and sits on my legs. At first Beau didn’t like her. But she was very patient and little by little Beau and Bea became best mates.

Introducing Archi

Archi  lived at The Corner before we did, he didn’t want to leave us, he wanted to be in our family. We found him a new home but he came back to us and snook back in the house. He is called Archi after our town Archidona. Beau didn’t like him at first and became very jealous. It took a while but now they all play together and love going for long walks. Archi knows the land really well and teaches Beau and Bea all the shortcuts.

Archi is my pal, he always accompanies me when I do my 10.000 steps. He looks after me to make sure I am OK. , He is thankful we kept him and we are very thankful he chose us as his new family.

Today I was at the grocery and the man helping me with my groceries had Down syndrome. His mother is Italian and teaches Italian at the local uni. I ask him to teach me some Italian whenever I see him. Today he taught me 'ce tre saco' (I think) because he was using three grocery bags of mine that I brought with me to use instead of the plastic ones. He made me think of you because I remember Manni telling me that once you worked at a grocery. Keep writing! We love it! Read Less
