The other day, we came across a design that summed up Reuben’s life perfectly. It was a tree that above the ground was Spanish but underneath, in the soil, it has British Roots. Reuben loved the design and the concept so he wanted to draw it for his BLOG. When Reubs first moved out here, the removal company was called UNION JACK. On their vans they have the Union Jack and THEN the Spanish Flag as a symbol of people moving from the UK to Spain. Only yesterday, as we were talking about this blogpost, driving up into the hills to see our friend Sally, Reuben suddenly said,
“LOOK!”
There in front of us, was a Union Jack van with the two flags on the outside. Reubs took a photo to show you all.
So, his move was brave. Many people stay in their home country for fear of leaving, but Reuben took the decision to move out here. Although there are things he missed, he is happy with his decision and feels comfortable in his new life. But in his soul he’s still very BRITISH! So this new concept of LIVING IN SPAIN WITH BRITISH ROOTS is perfect for him. Below, he has tried to explain his feelings in his own words. Enjoy! x
